Sandbox Audiovisual: BID, Netflix and the Colombian Ministry of Culture
Art direction and visual design for an educational program by Netflix, BID and the Colombian Ministry of Culture. Sandbox Audiovisual is a training program designed to give young Latin American talent access to the audiovisual industry through real production experience. The main explainer video was created as a key piece to introduce the program and reach new participants across Colombia.
Visual Approach
The challenge was to balance something institutional with something genuinely inspiring. I developed a visual language based on collage, textures and subtle motion, bringing a more human and approachable tone to the piece. The idea was to move away from a purely informative format and create something that felt open, inviting and full of possibility.
The system combines photography, graphic elements and a restrained composition to keep everything clear while still carrying a sense of energy and curiosity. Rather than overloading the message, the focus was on guiding the viewer naturally, making the structure of the program easy to understand while keeping an emotional connection throughout.
A visual approach designed to feel more like an invitation than an explanation, where each scene introduces the program progressively, allowing the viewer to discover it step by step.
The video helped communicate the program clearly while maintaining a strong sense of identity and accessibility. It contributed to a highly successful call, reaching over 7,500 applications across the country, far exceeding initial expectations and connecting with a wide and diverse audience.
